The terms and conditions of the company’s Warranty Service and Extended Warranty Service apply to test equipment that has been purchased for company or individual use, but not where the unit is for resale or hire.
If your equipment suffers a malfunction we will repair or replace the equipment during the warranty period as long as the unit is serviced and maintained by us annually as per the manufacturer’s recommendations.
Extent of extended warranty service and fair usage policy
The Company will repair, or at its option, replace any goods supplied under the extended warranty contract which are found by the Company to be defective in material or workmanship during the extended warranty period.
This guarantee does not apply to accessories, fuses, batteries, test leads, supply products, printers (unless built into the unit), printer cartridges, consumables, software, cases, holsters, straps or any product or part or parts which have been subject to misuse including unauthorised modification, failure caused by service of the tester by non authorised service centre, neglect, accidental damage, abnormal conditions of operation or excessive wear and tear.
We are unable to repair or replace any product which has only cosmetic damage, e.g. scratches, damage to trim, badges or other insignia and which does not impede the normal operation of the product.
The extended warranty begins for new or used equipment on the warranty invoice date and includes the initial calibration cost.
Extended Warranty Agreements can be purchased on all testers up to a maximum 5 years of age.
Claims limit
Extended Warranty claims are limited to the value in repairs up to a maximum limit of the RRP of the tester when new.
Warranty on previously purchased / used equipment
If you wish to purchase an extended warranty for a tester which you have previously purchased as new or used then the tester must be returned for initial calibration at your own cost to ensure that the unit is operating correctly at the start of the warranty period. Not all testers may be accepted for warranty
Carriage
We will collect and insure any item which requires a warranty repair within the UK and Ireland. The warranty will cover all return courier costs and insurance within the United Kingdom and Ireland only. You will be responsible for the annual calibration and related courier costs.
Loan replacement unit
Should the tester fail whilst in the extended warranty period, an exchange tester of the same model or equivalent will be shipped to you free of charge.
Once your tester has been repaired the loan unit must be returned to us prior to you receiving your original unit back.
Any damage to the loan unit or loss of the loan unit will be charged at the standard rate. Not all testers will have the Loan Replacement option available.
Exchange testers may be new, reconditioned or repaired to full factory specifications at our discretion but will not include software.
Access to free technical support
All current extended warranty owners have access to free technical support for the duration of the warranty.
Annual service and calibration
In order to maintain the extended warranty, the equipment covered must be calibrated annually within 60 days of each anniversary of the last calibration to ensure the test equipment is functioning within manufacturer’s limits. The cost of annual re-calibration is not included within the price of the extended warranty.
You will receive an annual reminder when your instrument is due for recalibration (excludes thermal imaging cameras).
Repair parts
Repair parts will be furnished on an exchange basis and will be new. All returned parts and products become the property of the Company.
If there are any parts not covered by the Warranty Policy, you will be quoted for repair at the standard charges operating at that time.
Limitation of liability
In no event will the company be liable for any loss or damage in transit of test equipment that the customer has sent to the company, lost test results, lost profits, incidental damage, or other economic consequential damages. This is true even if the other party is advised of the possibility of such damages.
The Companies liability for any injury (other than death or personal injury), damage or loss, in particular consequential loss, arising from the use of any goods purchased, or from the transaction itself, are hereby excluded. Any injury, damage or loss arising directly from the negligence of the Company or any of its agents will be limited to a refund of the value of the goods purchased, together with any delivery charges paid.
The terms and conditions are correct at the time of printing and we reserve the right to alter these at any time.
