Certificate achieved

Delegates successfully completing the Pat Testing Training course will receive a Certificate of Competence. The IEE Code of Practice for In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment, indicates that anyone carrying out testing should be a competent person:

"Those carrying out inspection and testing must be competent to undertake the inspection and, where appropriate, testing of electrical equipment and appliances having due regard to their own safety and that of others."
Reference - IEE Code of Practice

The Certificate of Competence is evidence of your ability and competence for carrying out pat testing in the UK & Ireland.

Why choose PASS for your training?

Over the years we have trained many people how to carry out pat testing safely and legally by providing a pat testing training course. We are constantly up to date with the IEE code of practice and have helped hundreds of people to start up Pat testing businesses, or how to carry out pat testing internally as part of their companies health and safety policy. We have many blue chip clients in our portfolio.

  • Smaller groups for more indepth training

Unlike many of our competitors who accept 15 people on a pat testing training course we only accept a maximum of 8 which ensures that you recieve the attention that you deserve when attending one of our pat testing course venues in Manchester, Teesside, Leeds, London, South London, North London, Milton Keynes, Glasgow and Birmingham, Nottingham.

  • At least one tester between two delegates - hands on experience

As far as test equipment is concerned we have lots of pat testers available for you to use on the pat testing course. There are at least four Seaward Europa Pat testers - one for every 2 people. You can also bring along your own test equipment to the pat testing training course.

Course content

The portable appliance testing course covers both the theory, legislation and practical hands-on exercises in line with the current IEE code of practice.

When attending the Pat testing course, delegates are given the opportunity to perform tests on appliances and carry out examinations where candidates must identify a range of faulty equipment.
