The Fluke 1623 is a simple to use earth ground tester which performs all four types of earth ground measurement. It not only measures ground resistance by the conventional fall of potential test but allows you to save time using selective and stakeless methods.
Selective testing allows extra safety as it does not require the electrode under test to be disconnected.
The stakeless method allows you to clamp two current transformers (probes) to the ground conductor for fast ground connection testing. This method requires no ground stakes or the disconnection of ground rods.
Earth ground resistance and soil resistivity should be measured when:
Designing earth ground systems
Installing new ground system and electrical equipment
Periodically testing ground and lighting protection systems
Installing large electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgears and machines, etc
Features:
One-button measurement concept
3- and 4-Pole Fall of Potential (standard earth ground testing using two ground stakes)
3- and 4-Pole earth ground measurement
4-Pole soil resistivity testing
2-Pole resistance measurement AC
Selective testing without disconnecting ground rods, a technician can measure ground resistance using a combination of stakes and a clamp (1 clamp)
Stakeless testing innovative solution using only clamps, instead of ground stakes, to measure earth ground loop resistance (2 clamps)
Measuring frequency 128Hz
Dust/water resistance: IP56
Safety rating: CAT II 300 V
Two year warranty
