The one day Electrical Thermography course will give an overview of FLIR infrared cameras and their practical applications for fault finding and the maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
The day of infrared training will cover a basic overview of the principles and concepts including Emissivity, T Reflected, Infrared radiation, visible light and applications.
Subjects covered on the Electrical Thermal Camera course include;
• How to setup the thermal imaging camera correctly
• Amps, Voltage, Power Factor, Harmonics, Capacitance, Impedance, Inductance
• OHMS law
• Single Phase
• 3 phase
• Motors & Gearboxes
• Materials and how they behave (Emissivity/ reflection)
• Cables, cabinets and plastics
• Indirect versus direct temp measurement
• SF6 gas detection in principle and why we can detect it
• Applications from low voltage to high voltage
- Problems you can find with the camera
- What they might look like
- Fault classification criteria, how to classify a fault found using a reliable and repeatable data
- Transformers/ substations
- Safety/ Rules and regulations
- Arc flash
